FLVT Parking Lot Redesign – Survey #2

flvt parking lot2

Thank you for everyone that did our first survey. Unfortunately, yesterday I found out that Options 3 and 4 are not available due to fire lane and the maximum amount of parking stall regulations. Therefore, we only have a choice of Option 1 and 2, perpendicular or angle parking. We currently have 64 stalls and 2 barrier-free stalls.

– If we go to 2.8m wide stalls, perpendicular parking will allow for an estimated 84 stalls and 4 barrier-free stalls
– If we go to 2.9m wide stalls, perpendicular parking will allow for an estimated 77 stalls and 4 barrier-free stalls
– If we go to 2.8m wide stalls, angle parking will allow for an estimated 71 stalls and 4 barrier-free stalls

2.9m angle parking is not available. Also, unfortunately, there are not enough funds for a sidewalk on the north side of the parking lot. Sorry about any confusion survey #1 may have caused.

  1. I don’t think the wheelchair- accessible parking spots should be so far from the doors. Those spots are not just for individuals with wheelchairs. They are also used by people who can’t walk long distances due to other medical conditions. They need to be close to the front of the building
