OLA: Collaborative Response Model

This year we decided to implement the Collaborative Response Model (CRM) here at Our Lady of the Assumption School.  CRM is a process created by Jigsaw Learning (Kurtis and Lorna Hewson).  The CRM is designed to meet the needs of all learners in a school community.  There are three essential components to the CRM: Collaborative Team Meetings, Assessments, and Pyramid of Interventions.

Collaborative Team Meetings:  Time is embedded in the regular week for teachers to collaborate and discuss the learning needs of their students.  Collaborative meetings are structured with an agreed upon agenda, student-focused, on task, and action-oriented.Pyramid

Assessments:  Assessment data is gathered from all students.  The data is used to drive instruction and help identify students on the continuum of supports (or pyramid of interventions).

Pyramid of Interventions:  A visual organizer is created to identify current levels of support.  Tier I is universal, and students only require high-quality classroom instruction.  Tier II includes students that need additional classroom supports.  Tier III includes students that would benefit from additional school supports.  Finally, Tier IV includes students that require intensive school supports.

CRM is a comprehensive school-wide system that ensures no student slips through the cracks.   Please click on this link to see more information about CRM from Jigsaw Learning http://jigsawlearning.ca/

It will take us some time to establish our CRM here at school, but we are committed to providing high-quality classroom instruction and supporting all of our learners.
