OLA Teaching Staff 2017-18 – update

May 9, 2018, Update

Mr. Tratch will be absent from work from June 1 for the rest of the school year as he will be having some minor surgery.  We pray and wish him a speedy recovery.  Miss Gross will be replacing him on June 4.  Miss Gross is a recent hire in Holy Spirit Catholic Schools and has recent experience in a 3/4 combined classroom.

April 14, 2018, Update

Miss Nadeau was initially going to be at OLA until the end of April 2018.  We are glad to announce that Miss Nadeau will continue to teach the Grade 6 students until the end of the 2017-18 school year.

March 20, 2018, Update

Mrs. Marcotte is currently on a leave of absence from her role as Associate Principal.  Mrs. Marcotte has decided not to return to school administration but return to a classroom position.  We thank Mrs. Marcotte for everything she did as our Associate Principal and we wish her all the best in her future.

Mr. Matsalla has been the Acting Associate Principal at OLA.  Mr. Matsalla will be continuing in this role until the end of June.

February 15, 2018, Update

Miss Fox, our First Nations Support Worker, has been transferred to St. Teresa of Calcutta School effective next week.  Mrs. Black Plume will be replacing Miss Fox.  Mrs. Black Plume currently works at Ecole St. Mary School.  She will continue to work there, but she will also work at OLA on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  We thank Miss Fox for all she did for OLA and we wish her the best at St. Teresa of Calcutta School.  Also, we welcome Mrs. Black Plume to our community.

February 8, 2018, Update

At the end of this school year, Mrs. Lank has decided to retire.  On behalf of everyone in our community, I would like to thank Mrs. Lank for her excellent work and commitment to the students of Our Lady of the Assumption School.  We wish Mrs. Lank all the best and we will miss her!

December 19, 2017, Update

An announcement regarding 5B:  We are pleased to announce Mrs. Baptista will be back, starting on January 8, 2018.  Also, a big thank you to Mrs. Graf for filling in, and as always, doing a terrific job.  On a personal note, please keep Mrs. Graf and her family in your prayers as her dad has recently passed away.  We hope to see Mrs. Graf at OLA in the new year.

An announcement regarding 4C:  We are pleased to announce Miss Teja will be joining OLA as a University of Lethbridge PSIII student under the mentorship of Mrs. Clewes.  Welcome, Miss Teja.

An announcement regarding 1D:  We are pleased to announce Miss Laqua will be joining OLA as a University of Lethbridge PSIII student under the mentorship of Mrs. Duke.  Welcome, Miss Laqua.

November 7, 2017, Update

An announcement regarding 5B:  Mrs. Baptista’s leave has been extended to December 22, 2017.  Mrs. Graf will continue to replace Mrs. Baptista.  We are looking forward to Mrs. Baptista’s return on January 8, 2018.

October 11, 2017, Update

An announcement regarding 5B:  Mrs. Baptista’s leave has been extended to November 17, 2017.  Mrs. Graf will continue to replace Mrs. Baptista.  We are looking forward to Mrs. Baptista’s return on November 20, 2017.

Also, last week we welcomed Jessica Lamb to staff as an Educational Assistant in our Kindergarten class.  Welcome, Mrs. Lamb.

September 8, 2017, Update

Effective September 11, 2017, our grades 1 and 2 configuration of 1D – Duke, 1O – Orr, 2L – Lank, and 2CM – Chief Moon has been changed to 1D – Duke, 1/2O – Orr, and 2L – Lank. Please see the note that emailed to all parents.

August 2, 2017, Update

I am pleased to announce that Linda Graf will be returning to OLA to fill the temporary position in grade 5 while Mrs. Baptista is away on leave.  Mrs. Graf’s main teaching duties will be Math 5B, Religion 5B, and Social 5B.  5B will be in excellent hands.  We are thankful Mrs. Graf is able to come back for a bit and we look forward to Mrs. Baptista’s return.

2017-18 Teaching Staff

2016 – 17 school year is over!  It was definitely a year of ups and downs, but as I reflect on the year I believe it was a wonderful year full of many blessings.  I was very impressed with how the parents, students, and staff of our learning community supported each other throughout the year.  It is a blessing to be part of a caring, faith community.

2017-18 school year will be fast approaching.  Please see the below listing for the structure of our homerooms and teaching assignments for next year:
