Students and staff are pretty excited about the Christmas Season. Everywhere you walk at Our Lady of the Assumption School you see the many Advent arts and crafts. This year we are trying something new. We are having a Christmas Family Fun Night. A big thank you to Mr. Tratch, Mrs. Marcotte, Mrs. Orr, and Mrs. Clewes for organizing it. Here is a letter the committee has asked me to share:
Also, as a part of our Christmas Fun Night we will be holding our first OLA Art Gala that evening. Our theme will be Christmas Light in support of the Groves family, who has contributed to our community by putting up their Christmas light display each year at their home. They use this display to promote awareness and support for Autism in the community. Just before this season they lost many of their lights and equipment to a garage fire. Classes will be creating art projects that will be for sale by donation. The Groves family has asked that donations (cash only) go to Lethbridge Association for Community Living which supports children and families in community participation and advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities.
We are hoping for a great turnout and we hope to see you there!
