Tonight, I can guarantee I will not have a good night sleep. I will be sleepless in Lethbridge. My lack of sleep will simply be due to the excitement of a new school year. Since I am not going to go to sleep anytime soon, I’ve decided to share my back to school message tonight.
Welcome to what promises to be another terrific year at Our Lady of the Assumption. It has been an exciting summer with our new playground build. Every day this past week; I have seen many students playing on it. I would like to give a huge thank you to Amanda and Travis Hillier and their team of parent, staff, and community volunteers for building a wonderful playground.
We are excited to welcome new students, families, and staff to our school this year. New teaching staff include Mr. Matsalla (Gr. 1/2), Mrs. Roth (Gr. 4/5), and Miss McNulty (K pm). Also, we welcome a new Educational Assistant – Mrs. Bandstra.
The focus of our school continues to be implementing ‘Inspiring Education’ – Engaged Thinkers and Ethical Citizens with an Entrepreneurial Spirit. Our main goals center on Catholic action and supporting student learning and success. We are excited about our new theme in our Faith Plan – ‘A Horizon of Hope’. All year we will be finding ways to give hope to the hopeless.
